10 days in. I feel great

2021.11.27 17:12 Nostizxamus 10 days in. I feel great

I smoked all day every day for the past few months, and before hat the past few years. I finally had smoked enough to get sick of being high just before I went home for Thanksgiving. Im back at school now and it just feel so good to have clear lungs, not feel tired/sad/anxious/bored 24/7. I feel more sociable, healthier, and happier amongst other things.
I cant say for sure, but this time it feels different. I feel like I have broken this awful self-destructive cycle. Only time will tell, but as of right now I have no desire to run to the plug's house and re-up. I have other priorities and I've instilled in my head (finally) that being high isnt even that fun and i never accomplish what I want to when i am high. This is my longest break in probably a year, maybe longer. Cheers everyone.

2021.11.27 17:12 Flat_Distribution711 Do I have potential to become a CM, or possibly FM? If so, in how long can I expect to become one?

I admit I’m possibly posting this to stroke my own ego. I’m 19, rated 714 on, and I’m in university, but I’m dedicating some hours per week to chess. I’ve taken chess seriously for about a year, but I’ve only been putting effort in studying the game(as opposed to just watching through instructional YouTube videos or grinding through Chessable courses and hoping something sticks) for about 3-4 months. I’ve only made real progress in the last 6 weeks or so, when I came up with a coherent training plan, more or less synthesized a lot of what I’ve learned, and breaking some bad habits that I made starting out by playing blitz(15 | 10 is my default time control now, but I’m planning on moving to slower time controls). I’ve never played in a tournament, mostly because there aren’t that many near where I live, I don’t have reliable transportation, the lowest category of most tournaments that do occur is sub1000.
As far as to why I want either title, it may be stupid, but growing up I was always surrounded by talented individuals with some special skill(basketball, martial arts, painting, music, etc) which I also practiced but never really stuck to. Throughout high school, I’ve reconnected and met many people who grew up practicing said skills and by the time they’ve reached my age, they’ve become very good at their craft or practice, and I can’t help but think to myself “man, I could’ve become this good had I kept at this!” Given the chess boom of 2020, I decided to try it out again since that was the first time I saw that chess had become very respected and talked about in the main public sphere as opposed to being a niche hobby with only a small amount of following, and I can confidently say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the whole improvement project and I don’t plan on quitting it any time soon. My goal has never been to reach IM strength, let alone GM, but simply to become very, very good at chess and achieve some level of mastery over the game. Are my expectations realistic or worthwhile to pursue? I’d like to think so, but I guess I’d like some confirmation.

2021.11.27 17:12 Jessicagilberthigh Repost A Christmas wish for my babies

My sweet four babies were so strong this year. They are ages 3,6,7,8. 2 boys and 2 girls. Last week we found out their uncle has stage 4 cancer and they don’t think he will make it to Christmas which has made getting into the Christmas spirit a little hard this year. We also lost everything due to a flood that hit house a few months ago. We finally moved to an apartment but had to restart on everything I want to make this Christmas special.
Aubrie is my 7 year old. She is very sweet and caring. She loves helping me with her little sister. Aubrie loves Barbie dolls and lol dolls. Everyday you can find her in her room playing barbies and the adventures her barbies have is so sweet. She already received 3 of the lol dolls.
Easton is my oldest 8 years old. He has really stepped up and really helped mommy through all of this. He is such a strong boy. He is a huge fan Star Wars and fortnite. He is becoming an independent reader and is really getting into books. He already received FGteev toy. Baby Yoda RC toy. And 2 📚 books.
Kayden is my 6 year old. He is special needs but has such a strong boy even though his lungs are not the best. He mostly plays by himself he likes it better that way loves to play video games and anything marvel. Kayden has the squishmellow coming. Already received his book. And the Batman and joker toy have also been purchased.
Saylor is my 3 year old. She is my tiny bug. She is my funny adventurous child. She loves Disney stuff. Mostly Minnie Mouse. Saylor already got the Disney figures and the Minnie Mouse roller skate toy is on its way. She also received her book.

2021.11.27 17:12 Sjalov Where to acquire warhammer fantasy figures.

Hey folk's!
Many years ago I started out with warhamer fantasy, but moved over to 40K, but now, I feel an urge to go back into fantasy.
I really wanna try out tomb kings, and since they are none existing in AoS I guess 8th edition is my best choice.
But! I'm having a hard time finding a trustworthy place to buy figures from, so I ask you. Where is a good place to acquire warhammer fantasy figures?
TL,DR: want to play warhammer fantasy but don't know where to buy models from before AoS

2021.11.27 17:12 oblee Got a Mustang 2050 (1998) with under 1000 hours on it for free but....

It has a few issues. #1 being that the starter spins but doesn't engage. #2 there is a rat living in it and some chewed wires, and #3 the safety brake is stuck on so even if I can get it started I can't move it.
I need to get it on a trailer, so what would you do? Replace the starter and try to get it running at its current location? Drag it, kicking and screaming onto a trailer? Forget about it?

2021.11.27 17:12 ZehDerp Very short battery life?

Hi everyone, My new Zephyrus G15 (which I actually had exchanged for a bootlooped M16) is great so far - not much backlight bleed, quality seems great, speakers are nice, temps are low, etc. However, a major problem is the battery life - I got this computer for college and gaming (plugged-in), but it only forecasts about 5h of battery life at 80% charge (and this is with just one tab on MS Edge open) when ASUS themselves claim 10h+ and many reviewers have noted 8+ hrs of video streaming. I have it on iGPU mode, no keyboard backlighting, 60hz, turbo boost disabled, silent mode, etc, but I can't seem to get it higher. Please help?

2021.11.27 17:12 TxFFxDemon History of the NFL Free Ride System

The First Non Unionized Drive Safe Programs
Friday, Sep 24, 2010 01:07 PM
PlayerProtect promotes itself as "a 24-hour, full service security and security driving company that caters exclusively to professional athletes. PlayerProtect agents are current or former law enforcement officers and are authorized to carry their weapons in all 50 states. Security details can also be arranged for locations outside the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area for an additional fee."
Twenty-two of the 32 teams told The Associated Press they have programs for the players that supplement the union's coverage. Six teams did not respond to requests for information on safe rides for players: Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
The Chicago Bears said they don't have a program. Spokesman Scott Hagel said in an e-mail to the AP: "My understanding is the NFLPA has a service that accommodates all the NFL teams." The Cleveland Browns said they are in discussions with a company to provide supplemental coverage to the union's policy for players. Neither of the 2010 Super Bowl teams provided information. Spokesmen for the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts both said they don't discuss such programs.
The Buffalo Bills are among the most proactive teams in trying to safeguard players who recognize they shouldn't get behind the wheel. The Bills have two programs: "A Safe Way Home" and "Designated Drivers of Buffalo."

To Avoid DUIs, NFL Players Partner With Uber For Car Service
The National Football League and other professional sports leagues have been plagued by incidents of athletes driving while under the influence. To address this issue, the NFL Players Association and on-demand car service Uber have a new partnership to provide car service to NFL players for the upcoming football season. Players will be able to request rides through the Uber mobile app, which provides a black car service. Like other mobile apps, Uber uses GPS to locate the user so that all the person has to do is press a button to request a ride. Players can party like rockstars and use Uber to get home instead of driving.
While there are other programs for players offered by teams, the players association believes this is another option that could help address the problem, Smith said (NFL Players Association Executive Director). There is no one cause or solution to the problem, Smith said, but Uber will be a convenient way for many players to get around. Most players have smart phones or access to one.
Kalanick (Uber CEO) says Uber already has some NFL players as customers but the partnership will make it easier for many more players. “We work with cities to make sure drunk driving is a thing of the past,” Kalanick says. “When you’re able to provide an on-demand ride no mater where you are in most major cities around the country, you then don’t have to schedule everything in your life. With a lot of professional players on the Uber system, their lives aren’t always scheduled. This becomes a convenient way to be safe.”

Lyft, NFL Players Association Launch Program Providing Ride Options to Players
“This partnership will do so much for our players,” Ahmad Nassar, president of NFL Players Inc. said. “First and foremost, it allows players league-wide to have a consistent and safe option for rides. But more than that, Lyft will provide career and business opportunities for both active players and those transitioning to life after football.”
Players will be able to redeem their free $250 of Lyft credits in 30 of 32 NFL cities (As of April 26, 2017).
"It is an honor to partner with the NFLPA and support the player community,” said David Baga, Chief Business Officer at Lyft. “We’re thrilled to provide safe, reliable transportation for the players and the people they care about."
This current agreement with Lyft still stands today & many teams offer one or several other discreet services to get players transported safely. Following the tragic incident this year this statement was made by NFLPA VP JC Tretter:
If you don’t like a limo and want to choose another vehicle, including Escalades or Hummers, stretch limos or a party bus. Players can pay the additional cost with a credit card.
How does this all work? Oh… the player calls either uses the app (Lyft) like every other human or they can call a 1-800 number on the back of their NFL player I.D. card (which is 100% not happening, since no one is carrying that around). From there, the NFLPA picks up a tab for a ride that chauffeured you to go … wherever…
Disclaimers: these are all condensed versions with links to the full articles.
The last two paragraphs aren’t linked because they mention the incident this year. Google NFLVP JC Tretter & his full statement will be widely available.
